It’s recommended you have two devices setup (2 phones or 1 phone and 1 tablet) with "owner" access because if you only have one device setup with owner access and it is compromised, lost, or broken your only recourse is a master reset. If you have 2 devices connected to the lock under the same owner account, and one is lost you can always manage security from the device you still have access to.
